Mergers and acquisitions continues to be an area of practice in which The Campbell Firm PLLC achieves success for its clients.  In 2013, the Firm represented eDressMe.com and its Founder, Joanne Stoner in connection with a strategic acquisition by, Group USA, which operates a major retailer of social occasion dresses under the Camille Law Vie brand.  The acquisition reportedly has allowed Group USA to expand its reach and enhance its brick and mortar locations and its existing on-line presence with its target’s on-line presence to expand reach, improve scalability and enhance the merchandise assortment for brands. eDressMe.com had a robust technology platform that powered a multi-tier, successful on-line dress and accessory business (which also included eDressMeProm.com).

Founded more than a decade earlier by Joanne Stoner, eDressMe.com was a pioneer in e-commerce; it had established a strong presence on-line both domestically and internationally. Milestones of the company’s success included long term, significant search engine rankings and holding the #1 position in organic search for the niche of cocktail dresses for eight consecutive years.

Ms. Stoner has an MBA from the Harvard Business School; her previous apparel experience included buying for Saks Fifth Avenue and management at Liz Claiborne. She was an e-commerce director for Lucent Technologies and Vice President of Sales & Marketing for 4R Systems, a software company that provides retailers breakthrough technologies that help companies profit-optimize inventory decisions.  Ms. Stoner joined Group USA’s executive team and is continuing to grow the Camille La Vie and eDressMe on-line businesses.

Group USA was represented by Greenberg Traurig in the transaction.  For more information, see the press release issued in connection with the transaction.
